CLIMATEGATE BOOK - Exposing the Global Warming Scam

California to regulate cow farts!

It’s a little known fact, but truth is our biggest economic sector out here in California is agriculture.  However because eco-freaks have permeated every nook and cranny within the state’s government, doing business as a farmer or rancher is becoming more and more difficult.  The newest assault is aimed at cow flatulence—cow farts if you will.

Initially the first attacks on the ag industry came in the form of insane water cutbacks.  Farmers near the Oregon state line have been witnessing major dams—originally constructed generations ago for irrigation and flood control—being torn down.  In California’s Great Valley water delivered from the High Sierra Mountains has been drastically cut in order to save a species of baitfish.  As a result thousands and thousands of acres of formerly lush farmland are now dry patches of dirt and tumbleweed.

The next big hit was Governor Jerry Brown’s passage of a unique  $15 minimum wage bill that literally makes California the only state in the U.S. to provide overtime pay to seasonal agricultural workers.  It’s impacting the cost of fruit and veggies big time.

But now, in another attack on California businesses, Brown just signed into law a bill, SB 1383, requiring methane emissions from dairy cows and other animals to be reduced 40 percent by 2030.  The crazy thing is according to the Western United Dairymen, the green zealots within California’s Air Resources Board admit there is no known method for achieving the type of reduction sought by SB 1383!

Says Western United Dairymen, “The California Air Resources Board wants to regulate cow emissions, even though its Short-Lived Climate Pollutant (SLCP) reduction strategy acknowledges that there’s no known way to achieve this reduction.”

In an effort to comply California dairies will likely have to install extremely expensive “methane digesters” that convert the organic matter in manure into methane that can then be converted to energy for on-farm or off-farm consumption.  Since California produces 20 percent of the country’s milk that means the geniuses who run this state just passed another massive “food tax” of sorts on everyone reading this.

As a result many California dairies will probably elect to simply close down or move to other states thereby giving the eco-freaks exactly what they want: dry patches of dirt and tumbleweed.
