Yes, it’s true. “Global Whining” was the original title of my book. It was a term I coined to describe those who willingly ignore the facts and instead choose to play the fool.
In fact the original full title was, “Global Whining: confidence to confront the biggest scam in history.”
I originally finished writing the book in December 2009, just before all of the damning emails were leaked from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in the U.K. Once the emails were discovered in January 2010, my publisher asked if I could incorporate the incriminating missives into the book. The task was actually very easy because all of the email writers (Hansen, Mann, Overpeck, Jones, etc.) were already exposed in the book. Adding their asinine emails into the works only confirmed my premise: these activists have purposefully bastardized the scientific method in order to sell an elitist agenda. Climategate was completed in February 2010.
The email scandal began to be referred to as Climategate. Picking up on a marketable theme, the publisher suggested a title change, which I immediately loved: Climategate: A Veteran Meteorologist Exposes The Global Warming Scam.
