CLIMATEGATE BOOK - Exposing the Global Warming Scam

It’s been hot AND cold

This is a significant update to a post I originally presented July 6th.

“Lamestream” media outlets went bonkers with an announcement last month from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, declaring that, “more than 3,000 temperature records have been matched or broken in the past week, continuing a trend that left us with the hottest June on record.”

The first question is, 3,000 out of how many potential locations? 100,000? Half-a-million? They never told us.

Then the media went on to state that for many cities across the U.S., July 4th was the hottest on record.  However, what they failed to disclose is this inconvenient truth: 37 cities recorded their all-time coolest maximum temperature on Independence Day.

Next, USA TODAY insisted that the U.S. “is in the middle of its worst drought in 55 years.”

And of course, the media insists, all of this heat is because of human-caused climate change.

In other words, you are the problem.

The truth be told, my friend, and fellow meteorologist, Joe Bastardi has crunched the numbers illustrating that half of the U.S experienced above normal temperatures this summer, while the other half was below normal.

Meantime, in places like Scandinavia,  and the British Isles, this summer is going down as one of their coldest on record.

The truth is, all of these thermal ups and downs are perfectly normal. As I explain in my bestseller, Climategate, the warmest decade on record in the United States was the 1930s, with twenty-two of our now 50 states recording their highest temperature ever during those years. So when USA TODAY says this drought is the worst in 55 years, they’re correct. But my point is, why was the drought in 1954-1956, and especially the drought during the decade of the Thirties, so much worse? I ask this question because in the Fifties the earth’s atmosphere was enduring a slight cooling; and in the 1930s the planet was unthawing from a very long cold spell.

Meantime–despite what you’re hearing about this being the hottest weather ever–as I explain in my bestseller, Climategate, the warmest decade on record in the United States was the 1930s, with twenty-two of our now 50 states recording their highest temperature ever during those years.

Examples include 1100 in Millsboro, Delaware on July 21, 1930; 118 0 at Keokuk, Iowa on July 20, 1942; and Steele, North Dakota reaching 1210 on July 6, 1936. Thirty-eight states recorded their all-time highs before 1960.  Likewise the hottest year on record in the US was 1934.

Seeing that the U.S. has maintained the most complete, widespread, long-standing, uninterrupted set of temperature records on the planet, these records should not be taken lightly.

Going back even farther, proxy data shows us that between 900 and 1300AD the average temperature on the earth’s surface was likely at least 2°F (1.2°C) warmer than today.  This period is known as the Medieval Warm Period (MWP).

From 1350 to 1800AD there was a global cool down reversing the warmth of the MWP, with temperatures at one point falling to roughly 2°F (1.2°C) cooler than today.  This 450-year period is known as the Little Ice Age (LIA).

Following the LIA, temperatures stabilized for approximately 50 years. Then between 1850 and 1940, temperatures increased 1°F (.6°C).

Next, from 1940 to 1970, the earth cooled about .2°F (.1°C); this was followed by a minor warming of a mere .34°F (.2°C) occurring between 1970 and 1998.

Thus, since 1850 there has been an increase in temperature of 1.1°F (.7°C).  Everyone—including Al Gore—agrees with this.  And, 88 percent of that warming occurred before 1940!

And, Gore and his green friends are forced to agree with this one too: since 1998, there has been no additional warming.  Period.

Another important point I make in my most recent book, Eco-Tyranny, is that most of the world’s thermometers have only been installed since the 1980s, including over 1,000 in the U.S., with 400 of those placed after 1998.  Logically, with the additional data points entered from locations never before measured, there is a statistical likelihood that the overall average temperature of the planet could skew warmer.  That’s especially possible when you realize the man responsible for much of the planet’s thermometer distribution and monitoring is a radical environmental activist named James Hansen, Director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, a division of NASA, who proclaimed in 2009: “We have only four years left….”

Actually, the intentional manipultation of the temperature record by Hansen and his flock of warmists has included ignoring hundreds of thermometer readings from Canada, Siberia, and the Andes when calculating the average global temperature.

By the way, if the designated record keepers would rely solely on satellite data, which accurately monitors the entire planet, and has been providing precise readings since 1979, they would see figures confirming that the planet’s temperature is not warming–in fact over the past 18 months there has been a slight cooling.  Even Phil Jones, the man at the center of the 2009 climategate e-mail scandal, finally admitted in 2010 that over the last 15 years there has been no “statistically significant” warming.

Two more factoids that rub the warmists the wrong way: the U.S. spring tornado season was 25 percent of normal, and the current hurricane season is also trending abnormally low.

Take that, eco-freaks.

  1. Thanks for the facts. Now all we need
is a way to get to a world where facts and reason are dominant forces .

If your book is titled “My Bestseller, Climategate,” as it seems to be by your repeated references, you should capitalize M and B and put the entire title in italics. Otherwise, you should stop calling it a bestseller, because it is not and never was. Or, if it was “a best seller by WND standards” or some horseturd asterisk reason, you should be honest and admit that.

This song was written in 1929. Evidently it must have been hot then too.

I especially like the definition of ‘green’ as used in this song see Webster’s dictionary:

“Inexperienced or untrained; hence, simple; gullible.”

It aptly applies to the ‘greens’ nowadays!

‘TAIN’T NO SIN (To Dance Around In Your Bones)

Words by Walter Donaldson, Music by Edgar Leslie – 1929

“When it gets too hot for comfort, And you can’t get ice cream cones,
‘Tain’t No Sin, to take off your skin, and dance around in your bones.

“When the lazy syncopation of the music softly moans,
‘Tain’t No Sin, to take off your skin, and dance around in your bones.

“The Polar Bears aren’t green up in Greenland, They’ve got the right idea.
They think it’s great to refrigerate while we all cremate down here.

“Just be like those Bamboo Babies, In the South Sea tropic zones,
‘Tain’t No Sin to take off your skin, And dance around in your bones.”
